Abstract Revises Streak Rules to Protect Progress After Missed Days

Abstract is revising how its Streaks mechanic handles missed days, replacing full resets with a milestone-based reduction system.

Under the new approach, a missed day will lower a streak to the nearest milestone already reached instead of sending it back to zero. Abstract illustrated the change with examples including a 47-day streak moving to 40, and a 100-day streak moving to 90.

The update is designed to preserve accumulated progress when users miss a day, while still keeping consistency meaningful. In its announcement, Abstract framed the change as an acknowledgement that interruptions happen without removing the incentive to maintain a routine.

The revised Streaks behavior is presented as a product-level adjustment to the platform’s progress system; no further rollout details were included in the source post.
